film or spray

film or spray

Postby vinnie the sex » Tue Sep 19, 2006 9:25 pm

i've been reading threads about tinting lights. what is a better quality. the tinted film(example: from stickercity.com) or the spray on tint (example: nightshades)

if someone with experience could post pros and cons for each and also wich is easier.
i assume the spray is easier because the film is hard to get the bubbles out but i am just wondering.

i am looking to yellow tint my fogs and perhaps smoke the tails.

any help would be much appreciated . thank you.

lastly i know this is alot to ask but i am actually trying to post a usefull thread for other people. if you could post pics of your personal experience from each or someone you know. please no pictures off of a manufactureres <--spelling? website because those will always look amazing.

thanx :bday:

tint tint tint!

from what ive seen on my friends cars no matter how hard you trythe spray will give a slight fuzzy look when the tailights are on and are difficult to clean

tint. but it's really tricky to apply without wrinkles.
where many hate, few will love,
But for those who love,
they'll see what it's like to live.

Having done both to some extent. Film will LOOK much better, but spray is much easier to apply and has no risk of tearing or peeling off. For some surfaces, it may be impossible to apply film, so spray is the only feasible option (i.e. if you want to tint your entire taillight.) Spray tint can look good, but out of a can nozzle, it will look "bumpy", even if you clearcoat the top. if you get a professional shop to do it out of a professional sprayer, you'll get a smooth coating and it should look good.

That being said, the film has the added benefit of being removable if ever necessary for the sale of the car or for state inspection (if your state has that.

Definatly go with the tint/film cause it will look better and for the very reason of being able to take it off. Also another suggestion I think that is easier for yellow fog lights. Just buy yellow bulbs. Nokya makes them for 20 or 30 bucks. Thats what I did.
