Servicing problem... CHoke!

Postby E_funkdoktor » Tue Sep 26, 2006 1:07 am

Greetings from the great North...

Just want to start off by saying this is a great site! proud to be a Solara owner... anyway just wanted to ask my fellow peeps if youve had this problem as I have.

i brought my Solara in Toyota servicing for a routine Oil change. The Oil change was fine but I notice that when I stop at a light or whatever and my car is in Idle it starts to choke for some reason. This did not happen prior to servicing, so im just wondering if anyone here has had that problem?

Im thinkin Toyota did something to my car because a day after, I got a call form them and they ask if everything was ok, and I said yea but one thing was wrong, and immediately they wanted to book another appointment... hmm

scandel u say?... i dunno

I hope someone can tell me whats wrong with my Ride...

I wouldn't automatically blame the dealership, no one IMO willingly mis-services your car. but i can understand why people hate dealerships. May you filled in some bad gas this time??

Check your vacuum hoses to the air filter. Maybe they inspected it and left a hose attached. I worked with some guys who did that on 1mz powered vehicles and customers would come back complaining of a similar problem. I'd notice that a vacuum hose would be missing. Either the big one or some of them have a smaller hose that is harder to notice.

Clean the throttle body problem will be most likely solved after that.
