i don't think OEM systems come with a starter kill option simply because we already have a transponder chip in the key.

if you're tryin' to start the vehicle with the key and it doesn't start, it's probably something else.

does it crank?

I had/have a similar issue with my car. The previous owner did something to the OEM keyless entry system. I assume that they installed an aftermarket alarm and stripped it out once they sold the car. There is no chirp or honk.

Anyways, the car won't start if you accidentally arm the car while your inside the car. Sometimes it will start but the flashers kick in. Very strange. I have to "unluck then re-lock then unlock" inside the car, then again from the outside. I still haven't figured out the proper combo but that elliminates the issue until I accidentally arm it while inside the car again.

pre-owned cars with aftermarket alarm systems are a real pain in the a$$

toyota factory systems disarm with the unlock of the driver's door (2 times).

if the parking lights are flashing at you (meaning that the "alarm" is triggering) unlock the doors with the key via driver's keyhole. turning once unlocks the driver's door, turning twice unlocks the rest and that usually shuts the system off.

If you want to make sure if you have oem alarm, head to the toyota dealer and give em your vin and they can tell you. I can tell you that the oem will not cut anything out, you should at least get a crank.
