Regaurdless of what all the 5psd guys may tell you, the supercharger is definately worth it for the auto. I was considering buying it at $2800 and then the price dropped to $1800 and I couldn't resist. It would be worth it at either price. I wasn't about to sell my car, but I wanted more speed and I wanted to make the car more fun to drive. I've beaten a lot of cars with the charger and kept up with a 01 stang GT from 30-120MPH. If you are really looking for speed then order the pulley and get a catback exhaust and do a few more mods. Maybe you should consider getting a smaller faster car if you really want speed, but the supercharger definately helped.

I didn't paint my calipers myself. My mechanic did it when i had my whole brake system redone. I used VHT brake caliper paint for about $5 a can. We used 3 cans to cover all 4 calipers but that was because it was 30 degrees out if that. It didnt take that long to dry, first coat we left overnight and considering it was below freezing, the other coats took only a few hours to dry.

Thanks for the positive comments on the car. :D

Yup, it's worth it as long as it's under 2 grand imo.

It makes Solara more fun 2 drive combined w/ RSB.
But it is not Massive okay?

I would never say that the benefits are "massive" even with my 5 speed. It's a nice gain, and it's noticeable, especially since I've gone to a 5.5 psi pulley. However, unless you really increase the boost, it'll never really push you back in your seat. I find it to be a very nice mod that gives me some additonal acceleration benefits and which allows me the flexibility to not downshift when passing on the freeway. For sure, it makes the car faster, but it won't turn the car into a rocket. If you want to spend additional money for heads, headers, and Y pipe, not to mention S-AFC and exhaust ( a necessity, even with stock boost ), then it's a different story. Don't get your expectations up too high, especially with the auto tranny. Yanks has stated many times that he has been satisfied with the gains from his supercharger, but many other people with auto trannies have not felt the same way.

Its all about your expectations. I am driving a Camry, I would be ignorant to think that a supercharger would put me up there with real muscle. There is no replacement for displacement. I was happy with whatever gains I could get. BTW I completely agree with all the opinions expressed above. CDsolara was right, it will give you a little kick on the freeway and make the car much more fun to drive :D

Brake calipers are very easy to do yourself and for the price of the paint its well worth it. I mean for real, who wants to go out and drop 4 grand into rims and tires and then find that all you can see is those nasty a$$ calipers just staring at you....

Hey Yanks, have you gotten around to buying a boost gauge? I still would like to know if you get boost in 1st gear even with the auto. I remember you writing that you have boost because the shop guys hooked up your s/c like a manual. If this is true, there is some small shred of hope for us auto tranny Solara owners!

If you get rotors, paint them! I didn't to mine and its real unsightly to see that that rust in teh holes and slots, adn around the hub. I'm gonna sand down my hubs and paint them. As for the holes and slots too late... So better do them before you put them in is my advice!

hey 808 ....ummm as far as i know i dont think it would be smart to paint ur ROTORS....now i hope you mean calipers cuz that would be fine...but as far as ROTORS i think you mean sealant so it doesnt crack when drilled and slotted by aftermarket companies...right?LOL L8r moe :evilbat:

No I'm not going to paint the entire rotor, that'd be dumb :)

Just the hub area, I'm not sure if its called that. I'm going to tape off everything else. Caliper I'm not sure. Its not a orange rust color so it doesn't bother me. The rotor hubs are and they are very visible, so I'm painting those.
