rear wheel question

rear wheel question

Postby woa_its_j3ff » Thu Oct 12, 2006 7:14 am

So yesterday I wanted to rotate my tires front to back. Front wheels came off easy, just remove lug nuts, but then when it came to the rear wheels, i can take off the lug nuts but it looks like it's stuck the axle or something, neither of the rear wheels come off..

so. how DO you get the rear wheels off??

I4 or V6?

Mine was stuck to my rear drums, I dont know if rear discs have the same problem.

How I got it done was to bring it to wheel shop, where they can put it on a lift, take off the lugs, and mule kick it until it comes off. I gave them 10 bucks when it was all said and done.

I don't suggest you try this without a lift.

If you rotate your tires regularly, you shouldn't have this issue in the future.

Just give 'em a lil' kick on the rubber. (make sure the car is secure)

You might try driving around to heat the brakes up, then trying to remove them?

I also suggest that you kick the top of the tire, but like Sentinel said, MAKE SURE IT'S SECURE. I had to do it on mine a little while ago.

Same problem here. Just make sure your jack really secure. Then get underneath and give it a Chuck Norris round house kick. I kicked mine about 5 times before it came off. If you bring it to the shop, they'll do the same :D

I dont suggest you do this with a jack, or anything less than a lift. If your car falls off the jack, its bad bad news. Especially if a wheel falls off too. Then you'll be sitting on wrecked rotors.

Your not even supposed to loosen your lugs when your on jacks, so theres no way you should even consider kicking your wheel while your on jacks.

Just go to the shop and have them do it.
