Car Cover for Solara

Hey guys, I'm pissed off at my dad cause he has a crappy car in the garage and won't drive it out so I can park my solara. But he did tell me to get a car cover.

Before I go out and get one from ebay or whatevers, is there something I need to know about them? Recommendations? Suggestions? Thanks for reading in advance.

don't get one from ebay because you don't have to. You can get one brand new at Wal-Mart or Autozone, it shouldn't be too expensive.

I got mine from here: http://covercraft.com/
I paid ( I mean my ex paid  ) for it and it was around $250 but there are different ones depending on your situation. Mine is red with the mirror pockets and was suited for outdoors because at the time I had to park my ride outside  but now I still use it while it sits the garage :D

Holy crap! 250!? What's the difference between that and the $24 ones in walmart or on ebay?

Its all in the quality of material and how much of a "sheild" you want

Couple things to keep in mind about getting a car cover (assuming your car will be left outdoors):

Weather Conditions-
Wind: Obviously a loose car cover will fly off with a light breeze. Custom fits are recommended. If you didnt dust off your car before covering, wind may push the small grounds of dirt/dust/pebbles around which over time will scratch up your paint

Rain: You definitely dont want water sitting on your car cover for long periods of time. If you buy cheap covers, the water may diminish whatever quality it has. Then when rain AND wind combine, cheap covers may have let the water seep thru and mix in the dust/dirt you didnt wipe off and just dig into your paint

Sunny: Basically the car cover has to be able to take the HEAT

Washable covers are also nice
I personallly think the universal car covers are crap and may do more damage to your paint and slide around like a mofo!!!

Ok...I see. Well, I live in LA county so wind is not that bad. My solara is a daily driver so I'm just using the car cover overnight to get rid of the dew from settling in.

What my problem is: Every morning I wake up to a very wet car. Eventually the car gets dirty because of that. So I'm just wondering if the car cover will help with the "very wet dew in the morning" problem.

if you are just trying to avoid the morning dew... and still use ur car as a daily driver, you will get quite annoyed and tired of putting on / taking off the cover. the other thing is to take the cover off with dew on it... it gets dirty
