My passenger seat is rattling a lot, while i am driving even on smooth roads. Any one know what i can do to stop this. It dosnt rattle at all when some one sits on it. Just when its empty. Thanks in advance.

Something is probably loose, and just needs to be tightened. Of course, it could be worn out, and tightening may not help. Track could just be worn.

Common problem in gen 1s. If the seat is in the farthest back position it will rattle even more. Try a different position and youll find the spot that will minimize the rattle.

seems to be the problem with all gen 1s. Its the track and to replace it, something like $800 each side and who knows if that will even fix the problem. Like everyone said, try to find the position with the least rattle and just listen to some music.

Allot of the gen 1 and gen 1.5 had this problem. My seats had this problem from day 1. Even after I replaced mine with leather later down the line the problem is existed. I thought replacing the clips inside the seat would help but I later found out it had nothing to do with it.

Like others have said it has to do with the way the rails were designed. It doesn't stay in place since it has a little bit of play room which is what causes the rattle.
