They are both stock and they are both 5 spds. I am stock besides Injen SRI but i dont think that SRI is that much of an upgrade.....hahah. .....some feed back please!! Oh and while im at it there is a kid i no that has an Audi A4 1.8T stick..all he has is blow off valve. And after i race these losers i will let you guys no results

~~~~~So my friend sold the vr6.....pretty dissappointed i didnt get to race it..but at least he got a toyota now instead....WOO!! However, i did get to race some guys 1.8t. It was stock but damn that thing was quick......droppin it into second he would get a half a car length on me and we would stick like that up to 110 :( but :D then we caught a light. I killed his a s s off the line up to about 80 and he just decided to call it a night hahah The guy was really cool......and to whoever mentioned the spool soundin like a cricket damn dude you werent kiddin :lol: ~~~~~~~
Youll probably beat the 1.8t if he has no mods. The vr6 will be close.
I raced my buddies a while ago, he had a 2000 auto vr6. We went up to 120ish and my bumper was a few inches from his so it was close plus my old car felt weak compared to my new solara. I might of had sludge idk. I say race the vr6 first.
Are you a 5 speed? I say its a driver's race. If you're auto you'll get beat. Depending on the year, the 1.8 has 150 hp or 180 hp. Either way the power delivery in those cars failed to impress me. I heard the turbo spooled and sounded like a freaking cricket. I just about died laughing. The car was pretty laggy for a small turbo and pretty weak.
What engine in the Solara??
My V6 5 speed can beat VR6 and 1.8T 5 speed Jettas. But the smaller Golf is faster. Those cars will beat a 4 cyl Solara I am sure.
you should easily beat the vr6, those sedans are so slow, plus that v6 in a 4cylinder engine bay is an underachiver
the 1.8t should be a cinch, but if hes chipped you should watch out, same deal with the audi
ive raced a jetta vr6, though it was a mkIII (97), it had an upgraded suspension and a neuspeed intake, it wasnt even close
good luck!
