Someone suggested this to me for performance... but I don't really understand... anyone have any knowledge about TEC³ ?

That system is for seriously modified engines. There is no need for it on your Solara. Your ignition is more than capable, and an S-AFC would be a much cheaper fuel/air managment system ......... just my opinion.

I have seen this system used in Sport Compact Car on one of thier project cars. It's mainly designed for highly modifed hondas that need engine management that can't be achieved by the ECU because of engine swaps, giant turbos, NOS, oversized injectors, ect...

that would be cool! rwd is alot of fun my friend loves to drift in his 180sx ( nissan kids :roll:

) i havent heard of that tho... i wonder if it would put power down than supras?

the solara has a coefficient of drag of .28 (.30 w/o spoiler) while the Supra was at like .34 :wink:

0.28 is pretty low...why do i remember reading 0.31?

Actually the Supra is at .32 as well. You have to remember, when that body style came out (MKIV JZA80), that C/D was very low for that time. Considering the Solara only came out 6 years later...they obviously have made improvements overtime.

Hmmm... I would say that statement is false. Hondas are only the tip of the iceberg for this EMS. Read more forums and less Sport Compact Car.

Some of you guys are obviously talking about a product you know very little about. It seems like few of you took the time to even visit their website.
The TEC^3 is electromotive's standalone fully programmable engine management system. The unit is capable of driving ANY fuel injected engine you can throw at it, including 4-6-8-12 cylinder engines in any stroke pattern and two and three-rotor rotary engines.
TEC^3 is capable of handling multiple fuel injectors and N20 injectors as well as knock detection, air/fuel correction, boost control, and real-time datalogging.
I believe that the TEC^3 also has a multiple-stage rev limiter and senders for auxillary gauges integrated, but I might be mistaken about that.
The unit is about 3 grand all told, if you opt for their crank-triggerwheel kit (which is a fine idea if you really want to push your motor). If you want absolute control over every parameter of your engine and can afford the best, go for it. If you're running a stock or near-stock (I/H/E) powertrain get yourself an S-AFC/V-AFC or similar piggyback fuel computer and save yourself the cash.

My bad I meant that in the articles that I have read it has been mainly used on hondas. Your right I mad my self look like a dumb a$$ that line is pretty funny.
