in relation to http://www.solaraguy.org/viewtopic.php?t=20231 (THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE DETAILS once again!) My driver side fog light went out on me this monday night as i was heading homne from work. Noticed it was out when I was up behind a truck with its shiney paint reflecting my car lighting reflecting at a stop light. Tried tapping n kicking it gently to see if the wiring was loose as I can't get under the car.

So anyways.... going to upgrade the whole front lights. Any recommended websites or dealers to hook me up with some silverstar lightbulbs?

honestly, and many may argue with me, but i gotta say silverstar bulbs are..... mediocre at best. They give off more light than stock but still have that orange washed glow. My lights I have in right now are blue bulbs and give a white and blue glow, the color being similar to HID, but nowhere near as bright. IMO these bulbs I bought, while being an unheard of brand, have never once let me down so im gonna go ahead and recommend it.

They are called Max K2 bulbs, made in korea
yeah i know sounds like some cheap product but they actually work quite well.

Silverstars are worse than stock in rain due to the blue tint. You can get them at any autozone/pepboys, etc, if you want them. Also note they have a shorter life than regular bulbs since they are made to shine brighter. Rated life for the 9006's Silverstars are 150 Hours.

If you want to see better in rain, I recommend the Xtravisions. These do not have a blue tint, so the yellow light that cuts through rain and other bad weather conditions can get through. These also have a rated life of 850 hours.

Regular Sylvanias 9006's have a rated life of 1,000 hours and 9006LL have a rated life of 1,500 hours.

I forget which of these are stock on our cars, but if you dont like changing your bulbs too often, I recommend you don't go with the Silverstars. Out of these, I would recommend the Xtravisions. They dont look as good due to the standard halogen yellow tint, but they give you the most real usable light without comprimising on bulb life too much, and thier about half the price of Silverstars.

silverstars can also be purchased at your local Walmart store. but kinda pricey at 50 bucks a pop. HID replacement bulbs are about 100, and last more than double the life of a silverstar bulb.

personally, i'd go with a decent H4/9003 kit if you're going to do an upgrade.

spend a bit more and go HID.

if you dont want to spend that much try piaa or mtec bulbs. theyre both guaranteed for life i believe.

stay away from nokya, i had them but they blew out in a couple months.

I'm trying to avoid some added weight on the car. Already took some lbs off the suspension with the coilovers and Enkei wheels. Plus... I rather kinda want to save money on new tires instead of HIDs. I know they're better but I rather stick with better then stock lighting type bulbs.

I think i'll be going with the PIAA bulbs for now. I checked out the PIAA site and just curious, are the Fog lights the same size as the main headlights? Only see H4 variances.

Thank you. Hopefully I can get someone to install these for me this week once I get ahold of them. Apartment life ahhh. May change end of next year though... Hopefully I'll get some pics later. Car needs a shine job with the waxing pad. :x
