trd wheels

trd wheels

I am having a problem with trd wheels on my solara se. The car started to vibrate at 60 mph and I took it to the dealer. They said they couldnt balance the tires because the rims appeared to be bent. They said I needed new tires and one rim. I have the original rims that came with the car. Can I put these on in the meantime? The trd rims are 225/45 and the original rims are 205/16. Hoping to hear from someone soon.

Of course you can put them on... It's around the same size, just like the spare tire!

Oh damn 225/45 and bent your rim already...

I think the cost to fix a rim is about 100 -150 US... that's better than buying a new Revo.

The stock tires will work fine. Is the rim visibly damaged? Take it for a second opinion before you invest in a new rim. More often then not if you bend your rim you also blow out the tire

Try hubrings first. If that doesn't solve the vibration...then its your rims.

I had the same problem with a TRD rim

Postby ttreat » Thu Apr 17, 2003 9:42 am

I had the same problem when I put new tires on my TRD rims. Pennsylvania roads certainly are havoc on anything less than 55 series. There is a place in Bath, PA called Wheel Collision Center www.wheelcollision.com that repaired mine for around $130. I didn't have it refinished but it came out quite straight. There aren't too many places that do this to alloy rims so make sure you have it done right.
