Vinnie - what I've done in the past is go to an auto paint store and buy a quart of paint and a catalyst kicker and some thinner.

They also sell a neat bottle/spray setup that works like spray cans but the spray can sits on top of the bottle and draws the paint out from below. The spray is wide and even - beautiful! I've done my door jams and trim this way before so it saved me big $$ when I got a total repaint. Great way to paint small parts and you'll have paint left over for future projects.

This of course is a little more $ than a can of shelf-stock touch up paint, but much, much higher quality sprayer and of course, near-perfect paint match. ;)

Good luck!

no i dont want touchup paint, im buying a spray can, i just need to make sure the color matches. i went today i have the touchup to match with, and i know its red flame and it's 3N5, im asking if this same color paint is perhaps under another code. the people at the parts store had a book and it did not even have 3N5 in it...

Just buy some red paint its close enough and no one will notice unless you point it out.
