Gen 1 tails on a Gen 1.5

I own a 2002 solara and I bought some gen 1 tail lights but when I went to install them I noticed a gap of about 1/4 inch across the top of the tail light when placed on the car. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem and what did you do to solve it? Thanks

I measured them and the gen 1 tails are a little less then 1/4 of an inch shorter than the gen 1.5 tails, so anyone have any input on this matter?

I know what you mean, when I smoked mine and put them on I noticed the gap as well. Since the final stages of the painting got f*cked up I ended up saying forget it since I wouldn't like the look of the gap anyways.
