:o The interior is nice, but I'm not sure about the exterior. The grill looks ugly imo. Thanks for the pix bandcamp!

rear 3/4 view

From an angle it reminds me of a 97ish Hyundai Tiburon with then undulating curve running the length. Definatly looks like an SC430 from the rear. Not bad

Maybe it's just me but from the back it looks a lot like a tiburon. Don't know if i'm too fond of the new look.

Postby KingSolara » Thu Apr 17, 2003 7:08 am

the car has a mixture of some cars, matrix, tiburon, camry, corolla, ES300, SC430, just the middle resembles the original Solara, I thought it was gonna look reeeal sporty, gotta see it in white, I really like white cars, the car looks ok, don't know y they kept it as a "BIG" secret, u know?, but thanks for the pics

I'm sold I cannot wait until it comes to the dealers in August.

Put some 18's on there and tint the windows and I'm good to go.

Yeah I think it does have some resemblance to Tiburon and many other cars. I don't really like it, but I have got to see it with my own eyes to decide whether or not it'll fit my taste :drinking:

original!

Postby KingSolara » Thu Apr 17, 2003 7:27 am

I think the original Solara still has the best style, now I appreciate my Solara even more, but the new Solara is nice, to really like it, I guess it'll grow on me

People were dead on with the front and back looking like....

a Lexus. I'm very happy with the Lexus look on this car and how everyone was right on about it looking like a lexus.

There are always critics but this is a car that will fall on you and is easily calling for some awesome mods. TRD are you listening?

Dude I'm sorry but the back of that thing is FUGLY.

I totally love my 00 rear lights and the rear of the car looks sharp. That thing looks so Tiburon that I think I just hurt myself regurgitating a donut.

Hyundai meets ES300.

(waits for the new Supra - hopes it isn't FUGLY)

:(

From all the speculation, I was assuming the new solara would be dramtically sportier and just stunning, but I think these pictures are pretty bland. I had been waiting months to see what the new solara would look like before making a car buying decision but then I couldn't take it any longer and just bought a new car and now I'm glad I didn't wait. I don't think it's ugly, but I'd rather not see a car that has so many borrowed features from the Lexus line and what also looks like some Tiburon styling. I guess I wish the Solara was a bit more unique. I'd also like to see what the convertible looks like - it might agree with me more than the coupe since that was what I was shooting for. Guess it will be a while though. Well, I'd just like to say this was the reason I joined this group and it's been a pleasure chatting with you all and anticipating the new solara. Now I'll go enjoy my new car!
