OH my my,
what a FUGLY looking car!!
In my opinion, toyota never knew how to design their cars. Except for the original LS400 that won the car of the year award sometime in the last decade, there hasnt been a single GOOD looking car from toyota.

Yeah, yeah, you can say that there are some good angles! :roll:

but you know what, if the car is a eyecatcher, you dont have to search for those angles!

dunno whats happening to designers around the world:
Honda with its new accord, toyota with all its cars (did you see the prius.. yuckkkk!!!!). BMW with its new 7 adn 5 series have all lost it!

only nissan, infinity and mercedes are holding on.. the G35 coupe is such a sexy babe!!! oh la la...

Yes agreed. I wish it would look more like the SC300/400. Those were sweet cars. O well. In a way I am kinda relieved. If the car turned out to be a knock out, I'd have solara envy. Now Im so happy i have the Gen1

omg.... sucks so bad. I've been waiting for this forever. I have a 2000sle, love it. As soon as I saw the pictures of this, I called my local dealership to try and reserve a black sle 03 convertible. SHeeeite. I hope it looks better in person, although I thought the 300zx might, it still looks weird. I'm going to have to buy a Ford now, that new mustang is dreamy. Don't know what to do. Someone tell me to keep hope alive! :evilbat:

i think its looks ok.. takes some time(alot?) to get used to it, but i wouldn't buy it :-?

gen1 model was much better

the new grill looks fugly and the whole front seems santed down, the head lights look like they're melting down heh. =b

I may be in the minority, but I find this car very attractive. I'm not seeing the jagged edge design as particularly Korean, but there is definitely a more definitive TRD like spoiler flow, not that different from the add on kit for previous Solaras. I'm wondering if anyone knows if those headlights are HID available...seems like they're not, a major bummer, since they "look" so nice. Let's hope this car is a major grand tourer in drive, rather than just styling.
Bonus points to anyone who can tell me when the convertible comes out!

1. I like the front
2. I like the interior
3. I like the seats, kinda like my sister's new Rav-4 or matrix seats. I hate gen 1 seats. very uncomfy and fugly.
4. I like the steering wheel
5. I like the aluminum accents and black shiny something something on the dash
6. I like the shift knob.
7. I hate the rims they have on there, but that can be changed.
8. I like the headlights, hate the foglights
9. *BARF* I cant even talk about the FUGLY rear (the new Tiburon can laugh at it)
10. What is that, a Solara-turned-CRV? "I gained weight in just a year", yeah it looks fatter because of the rear.

I would love to ride the new Solara for it's nice interior, but I wouldn't buy one. Hey, at least they kept the 2AZ-FE for the 4-cylinder model

It's a big difference compared to the 2001 and below 4-cylinder models (slow).

I hope the new Solara seats fit the gen 1, coz I'll definitely get it. See? I told you guys the super secret Solara was stupid.

(now, i'm looking out the window to see my beautiful Solara parked on the rooftop parking lot)

i think most of you are OVERREACTING though...its not that bad, youll get used to it

They should have made the grill based on the 03 model.
