sad that a simple request of getting the base maps other guys have without the pipe makes me look like I know nothing about electronics or cars. I fully understand that no two cars are a like. Thank you crisp for sharing you knowledge, but in my discussion with RPM, it is irrelavent since its plain and simple that I am just requesting the maps which people get anyways IF they buy the pipe.
Since I allready know from the start that no two cars are a like and you have further explained countless times, it should be clear that I dont expect the pre-mapped values to work wonders for my car. Reason is ince again that I dont want to get a blank box or worse, one that that is tuned far lean than what preset values come with the pipe. Better to have what everone else has instead of taking a chance. AGAIN I know I need a dyno, BUT read my post once again that currently I have no time or money for it at the moment.
Plain and simple, not asking for a lecture on fuel or whatever: Can I order a tunable box WITH pre-mapped values. (Basically whatever everyone is ordering minus the pipe)
im tired now...
CASTRO, you said...
"Having the preset maps will at least ensure that I'm not going to damage my engine until I can get it tuned. "
MY BAD on "lecturing" on this... I just didn't want to see you "assume" there would be no damage potential if you used JUST the MAF CUSTOMIZER with a pre-loaded map (albeit without the full kit). Truth be told, I DON'T KNOW the risks involved, so I shouldn't be making any cautionary statements.
I also noticed that RPM suggested using the MAFci "WITHOUT" a map. This makes perfect sense to me. You expressed concern with a "BLANK BOX", or, I'm assuming "MAP-LESS" box. Since these types of tuneable boxes are "PIGGY-BACK" to existing ECU's, they are simply "OFF-SETTING" values for the MAF signal... My point was that the "OFF-SET" values tuned for the CP-e Full Kit would likely be "off" for some other pipe. Anyway, sounds like you know all of that, so...
I hope your question gets answered, and I hope your application works GREAT! I'm sure JOSH at CP-e can better help you out.
Once again, my apologies for coming across ignorantly... certainly not my intent. Hope you share your experience either way, so we can all learn from what you end up doing.
Good luck!
