What combination of tools have listers used to take out and install struts? What size is the socket needed for the two big bolts - 22mm???

Can you use a half inch drive socket with extension and then a half inch ratchet or do you need a breaker bar? Is 1/2" big enough to crack those nuts?

ive always trusted in my breaker bar, never let me down. if the breaker bar fails, I add a copper pipe to extend it. lol

19mm for the main strut hat screw
15mm for somthing else, lol
I used a 4 way thingy for the two huge bolts that hold the strut and rotor assembly together (7/8")
Then some various smaller wrenches
and a monkey wrench to hold one of the control arms in place while you wrench on it.
Some spring compressors rented from Advanced Auto ($50 down, you get it back)
Some greese, locktite, and maybe some penetrating oil

I never used a breaker bar just pure muscle :)

Thats all i could think of...

^ those two things would have made my life really easy in compressing the springs, everything else isnt 'that bad'

I would say now that ive been experienced, spent an hour trying to figure out how to get the assembly out. I accidently took out the top shock screw, thus the spring wasent compressed.

With the basics I could do the fronts (dissassembly > change out > assembly) in 45mins each. Not sure about the rears, but heard there a little harder.
