How about using some punctuation? That way I would only have to read it once to understand what you're saying. Thanks.

or if you get your $hit together, do a "heel/toe downshift," but that may be taking it a little too far!

One word...OVERKILL. For street and freeway driving, heel/toe braking and double clutch rev matching are just plain overkill. Like I said in my previous post, keep it simple. :) Your car will thank you.

ps Ryan, I play every weekend, just come on down and I'll take you out to the course! :)

Hmmm, thanks for the insight. Although I didn't completely understand STR8PYP's original post about not downshifting, I get the idea. Brakes are way cheaper than engine/transmission wear that excessive downshifting may cause. I think I'll be downshifting a little less now. 8)

yep all i do is throw it into neutral. 9 times out of 10 im gonna put it into neutral and just use the brakes. I learned the hard way whenever my Audi's tranny got messed up from engine braking. Sometimes Ill downshift a gear or two to help the slow down process but its only for like 3 or 5 seconds.

while we're talkin about shifting.....let's get into power shifting. is this bad for the car? i mean i know its not good, but am i hurting it a lot? i only plan to do this while racing. also since we have a rev limiter or cut off(not sure on the term) that keeps us from redlining our cars to much, does this rev limiter also keep the car from reving to high into redline?

point being, will the limiter keep me from messing up my engine if i rev to high while power shifting? (ex. if i'm a bit slow at power shifting)

Yes, but that wont prevent you from damaging your engine in the long run if you continue to drive your car hard consistently.
