Door Window Leakage

Door Window Leakage

Postby Guest » Tue Apr 22, 2003 3:55 pm

Just wondering if anyone ever gets small amounts of water leaking through the door window seals. This sometimes happens to me when I wash my car with the hose. A few drops sneak between the glass and seal...

Can I do anything to prevent this?

I et some leakage around the side mirror, or the top of the window. This only happens when I wash with a pressure hose. No bog deal - I just gry it up.

I get the same thing. As long as it doesn't happen when it rains it shouldn't be a big deal. Just don't use so much pressure around the glass

I've never had that problem. But yes, water streams shouldn't be directed at those parts anyway considering there is no door frame around the windows. The seal there isn't that great at all.

when you wash your car the manual says to wash your windows by spraying at them at a 45 degree angle, upwards. i do that, and i still don't get any leakage.

make sure your windows are all the way up...? not too sure what to tell ya.

If you spray straight w/ strong enough pressure, it will leak up a bit.
Pretty normal and make sense.

Not only does water enter via the side mirrors, but dust is also a real pain in the butt! Combine the two, and you've got mud. :-?
