It'll do both increase hp and change the sound. The exhaust manifold is a bottleneck for exhaust gasses. Headers will allow exhaust gasses to move a little easier.
You may also want to change the whole exhaust system. If you spend that kind of money on headers, you'll still have a bottle neck further down the line with the Y-pipe and so on.

These guys make headers for Solaras.

I hope this helped you out.

Get dat's y-pipe if anything with an exhaust, the stock headers aren't realy the problem with the solara. I mean JP would work better than stock no doubt, but they're not really necessary, and it also depends on your application/other mods.

Why recommend a pipe that doesn't fit?
JP has been proven to work well. It may be expensive, but you get what you pay for.
Dats y-pipe is made in someones garage and someone got the measurements wrong.
I didn't get it because I am planning on getting a dual exhaust in the future. Dats y-pipe is specifically for a single exhaust system. If you plan to upgrade later, save yourself some money.

All you have to do with Dat's is go down to a shop and get it fixed.

That's like 20-30 bucks

I've got it on my car, and it is faster than ever
