Wondering if the same thing can happen for my wife's ride, 130 amp highlander alternator for an 04 camry v6 3.0.

Be aware that putting on an oversized alternator will sap horsepower.

and I would presume that it would fit, since the engines are so similar (having taken a look at my mom's 03 1mz) and the accessory belt is the same size as well

the easiest way to test would be to take your old replaced alternator from your solara and test fit it in your 04

its been done many times, it does fit.

not necessary unless you have some sort of amazing sound system or you're a light enthusiast.

JL 500/1 and JL 300/4 needs 80 amps of power alone and the cars stock alternator is that, so 130 amp will help.
