Squealing Noise Suspension Problem?

Postby TadS » Wed Apr 23, 2003 4:59 pm

I have a bit of a problem. I am getting a horrible squealing noise from the back drivers side of my car. It only happens at low speeds and is intermittent. I have already taken it to the dealer, as they seemed to have little idea what was wrong, so I thought I would post it up here. They think it is suspension related, but said that everything looks well greased. I have Intrax springs, KYB struts, and a Whiteline RSB that were put on 3 months ago. The sound is about 3 weeks old. Sometimes you can actually feel it go through the car, but as soon as I get up around 40mph it goes away. It seems to be worst on inclines and in hard corners. Surface texture of pavement doesn’t seem to affect the sound that much. Any ideas would be useful. Thanks.

maybe the RSB needs re-greasing. dont know if the Whiteline needs regreasing, but you described what the TRD ones go through if they're dry. the first time my TRD rsb started to squeal was 4 months.

It's not the RSB. That was the first thing I checked. :D The RSB more seems to only sqeak anyway... This is mega worse.

You're right, that isn't the RSB. That only squeaks when you go over a bump or pothole and is really more of an occasional annoyance. This sounds like something completely different. The Whiteline RSB will also develop the squeaking problem, by the way.

Sounds like a rear strut install problem.
