Caution about EBAY Headers!

Caution about EBAY Headers!

Postby trd4life » Tue Jan 09, 2007 12:09 pm

So i get my EBay headers today and open up the package to look at everything. They looked good until i realize theres no bung on the rear header for the 02 sensor to screw into. The EGR flange is there but the 02 sensor bung is not here. Kind of a scam considering is says bolt on installation.

SO, for those of you that ordered these remember when you go to have them installed at the exhaust shop they are going to have weld on a bung onto the rear header, increasing you install costs.

I emailed the seller and told him he's a piece of s h i t and i want a discount on the headers cause i am going to have to modify these to work on my car.

Using them as a mock up for turbo pipes? I guess I never noticed that was missing, I'm going to check mine now.

It seems that they intended the o2 bung to be the one thats on the y-pipe. The side that connects to bank one has a bung on it, I assume they put it there. Correct me if Im wrong, the stock y has no bung in it so this must be how they intended it to work.

If that's the one you bought, the guy said they were made in China. The other ebay headers I learned are made in Taiwan.
This is the space where I should write something witty or clever, hoping to show some personality.

The set I bought were the second or third set of ebay headers that were ever on there. I can't believe yours doesnt have the o2 bung on the y-pipe or anywhere for that matter. Thats ridiculous....

yeah i dident notice ether tell i saw this. It cant be that hard to weld an o2 bung on you can get one at any parts store. Alls you would need is to find some one to weld it on.

Bring it to a muffler shop, if they don't have it they should be able to order it.

HEaders for 260 shipped and all you need to do is weld on a bung? and now we have the Dat pipe... WTF, I own 2 solaras over a year and a half and we got like headlgiths or somethign now grilles and all this jazz. You know the market is opening up for it as a bigger tuning platform, this crap is going to start pouring in with any luck fr you guys. As long as the welds are good on them, if all you have to do is weld on a location for the O2 sensor to get a pair of headers for the car... that's sick!
