Manual Swap or Supercharger?

I'd agree with those who say it's a wiser choice to simply purchase a car with a manual transmission from the get-go.

Always is if you're looking for that. Swaps get so expensive. A v160 6spd into a Supra with an auto or a W58 5spd is ridiculous. It comes stock on the TT Supras, but they're hard to find too. You can get them, but sometimes the price won't be what you wanted, but it will already be done, and it's always something to consider. I am limited to a certain power when I get my turbo setup on because of my tranny.

although yea.. it may be easier to buy a new car with a manual transmission... however i know some such as myself dont have enough $$$ to straight up a buy a new car. I feel like im more closer to be able to save up for a manual tranny such as Mcthings here.

however Dats car and another fellow solara guy arent too far off.
but SCV6 says he spent a little over 1500 to swap it in himself.

You must have much lighter traffic in your area than I do in mine. I remember the last time I had a manual in Chicago, I was hitting the clutch so much I felt as if I was peddling.

true. even whether if you're in city or suburbs. I live in the suburbs of Chicago. traffic sucks in even the most normal or extreme of weather.

traffic splaffic, I drive a manual in southern California. I drive in San Diego, OC, and IE, traffic is plenty during certain time of the day. If you really like driving, there's no substitute... So yeah, another vote for, "get a manual!"

Traffic dosen't rule me I rule it sure it feels like a work out sometimes ....but wouln't trade my 5 speed for a matic im gonna be a grandpa and still shifting into gear hahahha

That's basically the thing. I don't have enough money to go and buy a new car. I have an awesome car, with the top trim (XLE), and the top engine. I got it for free because my dad bought it brand new and handed it down to me.

The car is in perfect condition. People that don't know anytning about car say I am spoiled because I have a brand new car.

It's a '97, I say.

So I don't want to just sell it. I want to mod it with manual or supercharger. I already have some minor mods, such as a SRI, Dat's Y Pipe, etc. you can check my cardomain for that. But I feel like I'm ready for a major modification, such as a tranny swap or a SC. I only have a minimum wage job, but luckily I have no payments or anything like that, so I can save it all. To put in the car.

buy dat's car, then swap over both the tranny and the s/c at once....done and done...

if you have friends to help you and the know how, a long weekend is all you'll need since you'll have literally everything you need except for the interior camry trim for a 5spd....

even easier, just take the engine and the tranny out of the solara, then take out the ones from your car and just drop them in to each other, then swap the axles if needed
