Flimsy Body

Postby _nkx1 » Thu Apr 24, 2003 12:28 pm

I also have 3 door dings on the rear panel (drivers side). In addition, I have 2 dings right below the rear windows (1 on each side). One of those I did myself, one is unknown in origin, and the other 3 are from my grandma's car door in the garage (very annoying). So, if I would have been more careful, I would really only have 1 ding. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to call a ding repair place and get them taken out.

I think dings on black cars look the most ghetto. On other colors, dings don't seem to be as noticable. I really wish I would have gotten silver instead.

Trust us Solaraguys who have silver cars, your little door dings would turn into huge dents. It's all about the curse.

Maybe all the other Silver Solaras made some sacrafice and is taking all the dmg while mine remains fine Image The only thing I really have is 2 HUGE chips on the hood from rocks... and it wasn't even my own doing... it was my dad's fault =x (well, the road's fault, but he was driving)

I dont have any dings in my car on the doors. I guess thats because i dont drive it hardly. All i have is one huge ding in the quarter panel (only time i drove it in a month and that happen) to bad it can just be pulled out like the door dings.

As an update, i used the BIll Mays's Ding King...it barely worked. At least the dings not too bad, but of course I notice it all the time. I just wish the body was a bit sturdier.

yea i definetely hate these idiots who cant open their door. it seems to be the worst at college. the parking spots are so small and ive got three very noticeable ones on my passenger door and one on my driver door. and the freakish thing is, if you look at the car from a certain angle, you can see how many small ripples there are in the door itself jus from someone tapping lightly or touching it. they are not really dings, jus small, small ripples or indentations. its hard to explain. its very, very hard to get the right angle, but if you get good lighting and just look at it up and down, left to right, you will eventually get an angle that lets you see just how many barely noticeable ripples there are. these ones are so small that you can only tell cuz of the light bouncing off of them, but you can't feel them or anyhthing. and in 99% of cases you will never see them, not even in direct sunlight. theyre not really noticeable like a real ding. hopefully someone knows what im talking about. but anyways, for the major dings i guess im gonna try ding king. ive heard mixed reviews, and some news companies did stories on them saying it didnt work or barely worked. but people at the teamsc3 forum had some success. but i figure since our sheetmetal is so thin, and the door gets dinged so easily, the dings might come out easily as well. if not then ill have to take it to a paintless dent removal place. any ideas on the prices at one of these places? theres one around here called dents-plus that does it for 75 dollars a panel, plus 10 or 15 per ding, but they say that they'll work with you to cut you a deal that you are happy with? does this sound about right? wow, long post. hope someone actually reads it.

Personally, I've been offered 110 per panel...(regarless of no. of dings)...I had a friend at the corolla boards..who had a contract...(yeah a contract), essentially, he takes his ride every 6 months..and they take care of all his dents for $70-$75 (regardless of no. of dents)...but he did that because his was a show car-daily driver!
