funny....

This thread was like watching one of those "flicker" movies of the Little Rascals or somethin' at the "penny arcade" at Disneyland!!!! HA HA HA HA!!!

...that or a "car-guy" version of "Bloom County" or somethin'

Oh, did someone mention NEVER to touch the capsules (bulbs) with your fingers or anything that has oil or residue on it. ONLY touch the metal mounting flange area or base of the bulb mount, or you will cause premature failure of your bulb. The contaminant on the surface creates a "hot-spot" that decreases the durability of the bulb...

sorry a little late reaing this page. I put HID's on my car and they did the same thing yours are doing. I called the manufacturer and they suggested switching the polarity. Tryied that and they work just fine now. I also have 3 prongs.

Took me 2 hours to install everything. It looks good and thanks for all the previous experience/suggestions.

One last thing is about the screw. There are two holes on the ballast for screw mounting, but I just used the provided adhesive double-sided tape and mounted them. Would this be okay? I used some zip ties to make sure the metallic portion of the ballast doesn't touch any metal even in the event of falling loose from the adhesive. I just dont know how many people actually used screws. Given that we have limited space in the left and right corners, where to make the screw holes is also another interesting question.

I drilled the HID mount (plastic composite material) holes out to accept an M8 diameter bolt (M10 heads) and found existing M8 threaded weld-nuts in spots that enabled me to bolt mine in. (No screws, no permanet damage to body) I run this in a gen 2, so things may be different, but I had to mount left/right side ballast in different locations. I had to move some existing bracketry to make room in one case, and only 1 bolt in the other. It's holding up well so far.
