Winter in Texas!

Winter in Texas!

Postby CosmicGrooves » Thu Feb 01, 2007 9:55 pm

This is one of the wintery-ist winters in years here. This much snow fell in about thirty - fourty minutes! The snow flakes were huge... more like huge clumps of smaller flakes... it was coming down in clumps.

To SEBAS' point.... this photo of my Toy P/U was taken the SECOND WEEK OF APRIL in Canada (1 hour north of Toronto in the "Highlands")... the weather there was BRIGHT, DRY, and SUNNY just two hours earlier. The actual "time snowing" when I shot this was a LITTLE OVER AN HOUR... maybe 90 minutes at BEST! :o

(On a SIDE note, I don't expect many of you remember the winter of '78 Blizzard? I was living in Elkhart Indiana - just outside SouthBend, and we had 33" of snow fall overnight, with HIGH WINDS creating drifting up OVER the rooftops. We had to create a TUNNEL to get out the back door. Parking lot SNOW MOUNTAINS were two and three stories high a couple weeks later... SNOWMOBILES couldn't travel out in the street, due to the depth/fluff of the heavy snow! :o )

Just for reference....

I remember the blizzard of '77,but not '78...perhaps that was only in your area.

The blizzard of '77 was not caused by actual falling snow, but high winds that blew all of the piled up snow from the top of frozen lake Erie right onto western New York...just a fun factoid :D

I dont know. But I dont like how the hot weather will increase electical bills and gas. Not to mention car failures and more sickness due to the bugs not dieing from the cold. We are walking into our own deaths.
