Ok, finally got the intake installed, and wow. The sound is simply awesome. It's like a whole new car. The power is substantial, and it's responsive as hell now.

One thing tho, I am a little worried about my wiring skills, with a few of the scotchlocks not giving me the satisfying "click". The are all clamped, but I forced a few of them due to poor angles and bad plier skills. Are there any signs that would tell me the wiring is off? Everything runs great, idles fine, sounds enormous, but just wondering if anything could be wrong that I don't notice until too late.

Please advise.

BTW, thanks Solarizona for a great transaction and a great new car.

they dont all click but go through and check them with some needle nose pliars or something similar and just make sure they are clamped all the way. congrats, I firmly believe its the best product for the money for our cars. I'm combining mine with a supercharger in a few weeks, cant wait to see the two combined.

I just noticed something else, maybe it was there before, I don't think so tho. When I shift from neutral to reverse, I get a harsh thunk sound and a little jar, like it wants to move. What the hell did I do? Or is this a tranny prob I failed to spot before. Hoses maybe? All of them are clamped tight, except the smallest hose. That one just sits on the nipple, and can come off easily. No clamps will fit. Normal?

I dont think thats related to the CPE, sounds like you might want to flush your tranny fluid, also if its been cold out your engine is starting up at higher RPMs and could have this effect when you shift.

Edit: your in LA so maybe not so much on the cold

Thanks. I'm sure I'm just hyper sensitive after operating on the car. Still, no regrets, you're right, it is an awesome mod to the car. Now she's a sport coupe. Sigh. If only there was more money for everything else.

I was also worried about my connections. One thing you must know is that the pipe can't run without the module (strange as it can be...the AFR becoming so lean (no fuel at all) at idle...I didn't push the gas pedal seeing that at the dyno shop. So if the wire passing thrut he AFC disconect it will result at something like engine blow. You may ask the other CP-e owner about how the make there connection more solid. I know is frustrating to start over the connections but test them by pulling on them...they really have to stand.

About your reverse problem I didn't lived that, I'm a gen 2 tho. Therefore, I feel something special about the tranny in the beginning...I don't know now it is like it has "learn" the way it works I will test for the last time my car on a dyno in the frist week of April. I want to see the gain. I dynoed in April 2006 and July 2006...the power displayed by CP-e was right with calculation about the air density. I want to see right away next Arpil in a similar day as last year. I'm supposed to get 194 whp and 201 tq

Unfortunately, I probably won't go the soldering route. I should, I know, but just don't know how. The car is running great so it should all be fine. Shouldn't it?

if you messed up the car would let you know imediately. I will probably solder when it is above freezing here. For now I just made sure the wire was at the bottom of the metal slot of each vampire clip. I also double and tripple checked continunity after install.

Yeah...it was drilled before I got it. The small vacuum line sits on it fine after a little trimming, just doesn't seem like a secure fit.

you could use a zip tie around it like a hose clamp.

I remember I got my cpe and the port needed to be drilled out so i called CPE and asked to make sure and then posted online. BUT then like an idiot I broke the bit off and could not get it out. So I used a air compressor fitting to fix it. The hose is a perfect fit and does not slip.
