^^^ ICICLES ON EXHAUST... doesn't seem right...

Image

Image

^^^ Here is the 'lara... sitting sadly OUTSIDE with her eyebrows raised... as if to say: "IT'S SO COLD!!!" (My little garage is full of motorcycle projects and the like... couldn't get the 'lara in at the time... )

Image

^^^ Hard to keep this thing clean! Not that I am trying these days... You GOTTA have something "else" to drive around here...

Image

^^^ Here is my neighbors pond behind my house this morning... my fingers were bitingly numb after about 7 minutes despite wearing "Mechanics" gloves to do the shooting. Dangerous cold out there! (I wouldn't have done it if the 40mph winds from yesterday were not gone. It's stone still today. :o )

Image

^^^ Here is my backyard ON SUPERBOWL SUNDAY LAST YEAR! (You can JUST make out the POND that is pictured in the prior shot from this morning WAAAY in the background on the far left behind the distant oak...) The week before had been an ice-storm... but not too bad. It was majestic... and not nearly as cold. (I'm thinking mid 20's...) :)

Anyone else with superbowl sunday photos?

-5 degrees?
Thats ball shrinking cold.

I used to live in Chicago until I was 27 years old. Then, I decided I had too much of the cold and decided to move south. I live near Dallas Texas now. It gets chilly here for a couple of days in the winter, but no where near as cold as that.
I can't stand the cold!

Winter sucks. My RX can't stand the snow.

Yeah, maybe a couple degrees... the angle on the thermometer makes it look a couple below the actual reading, which usually turns out within a degree of the official local airport reading. I saw it was an even -3 here this morning. That's cold! I remember some -15 and -18 ranges some winters... one in particuar when we stayed below 0 for a week. We also had a couple couple week spell under 15 after some icing. The ice just WOULDN'T go away... my entire country drive was an inch and more of what had been packed snow-turned ice... and became a slick rippled sheet of frosted ice. I ended up pouring a couple 50lb bags of granulated water softner salt on the whole area just to try to "rough it up" enough to get in and out with the cars... not to mention WALK on it. Until I did that, I could PUSH on my P/U from the side and SCOOT it on the ice! :o

^^^ These shots are from the heavy icing storm 2 years ago that brought nearly 18 straight hours of freezing drizzle to a strip through our area... we lost power for 104 hours until I finally obtained a generator and regained my well and furnace, not to mention lights, etc... It was actually earily beautiful... the entire yard and surrounding woods were "jingling" and "crinkling" and the trees were all creaking and CRACKING and CRASHING into the yard and falling in the forest. It was spectacular, but scary...

That's a beautiful shot. Nice ultra-wide. I'd love that on a wall... being a "blue" kind of guy and all...

I HATE to crank the TRUCK, as well... but then again... it's a TRUCK!

I just changed the oil with Mobile 1 Synthetic yesterday...

YAY! It's up to nearly 10 degrees farenheit now!
