Solara "Drifting" Fun

Postby Kaxael » Mon Feb 05, 2007 5:01 am

Hey guys, my first post but I think you'll find it somewhat entertaining

Me and my buddy took my '05 Solara out for some E-brake "drifting" fun right after it finished raining a couple days ago. Here's the link to the video on my myspace since I have no idea how else to post it.

Turning and locking up the rears with the E-brake on a wet surface = drifting? Just my opinion, this dude was trashing your car for his fun.

Sorry to be a downer on your first post.

On the upside, your Gen2 looks good. I didn't listen to the audio with the clip, is it a V-6?

(Also, please reduce your avatar size to a max of 128 x 128.)

Welcome to SolaraGuy!

Yeah it's a 3.3L V-6 SE
Ok maybe not actual drifting but it's the closest I can get with FWD.

Looks a little hurtful... :-?

Then again... 15 or so years ago... I was "E-braking" my first supra and "flicking" it up onto two wheels for kicks... then there's the good 'ol "BRAKE CHECK" from 100+ down to 0 on a country road... I recall warping TWO sets of rotors with THAT juvenile stunt...

Brake check? like literally... just going 100+ on the freeway and then slamming on the brakes with full force? wow sounds so fun and experimental... Supra had ABS? cuz I imagined if it didn't, you'd be sliding around the road coming to a stop...

and yeah..Kaxael, i'm sure it's fun, we all did it once or twice in our life...

Not as abusive since it's in the wet. I would hate to see this done to a Solara in the dry.

Anyways, welcome to SG.

Welcome, and stop doing that to your car. Why bother having such a nice car if you are going to treat it like crap. Sorry, JMO.
