I'm getting my projector redone at custom lightz and I didn't exactly like the 4300K yellowish color I got from the OSRAM bulbs. Would 5000K philips turn out to be white-ish color instead of yellow?

Does custom lightz have a website? How much $ for the retrofit? From everyone's input here, it seems that the 5000k is the best choice for light output and true white in color. If you go higher in temp, you give up a lot of light output. I think you will be happy.

Yes the 5000ks will be whiter, but they dont put out as much lumens as the 4300ks. Just fyi hids color shift after 100hrs. The philips 5k usually matches a color shifted 4300k bulb. I say stick with the 4300s and give them a few hours.

just over $1k for the retro, which includes everything from labor to ballast to bulbs.

I had my lights redone because I bought some new aftermarket headlights on ebay for retro, they turned out off center and impossible to adjust. I ended up sending 2 OEMs in for a second retro. Don't EVER buy cheap stuff on ebay (cheap as in quality wise, still cost me about $160)!
