What do you guys/gals think of this wheel on a 2003 Red SLE?

Favor; maybe someone could photo shop this on a car like mine.

Thanks for your comments and help.

They look too much like truck rims, but that's just me. To each his own.

Suggestion

Postby JMSinMaryland » Sun Feb 11, 2007 8:53 am

If the M stands for "Motegi" look elsewhere. If you get a bottom of the line wheel you might be in for some surprises. I've had Konig myself which are somewhere in between and I've never had a problem with either set.

Clarification

Postby JMSinMaryland » Sun Feb 11, 2007 8:59 am

I'm not in the position to say they aren't any good, but I'm in the position to say that I wouldn't put a Motegi wheel on my car if they were free. Jon. p.s. I personally only like chrome on large luxury vehicles, Lexus, MB, BMW and only if the car is white, chrome looks and IS heavy, won't look good on a Solara.

theyll sink into your wheel-well like a bi*ch.
try finding a wheel in 18x8 with 40 offset or 18x7.5 with 38 offset.

look at tsw, 5zigen, enkei, and rays wheels (expensive but worth it).
theyre are TONS of wheel companies out there. do a google search youll find something you like.

Suggestion

Postby JMSinMaryland » Sun Feb 11, 2007 9:22 am

1. Decide on a wheel size, that will narrow down your choices. Remember any 'lip' on a wheel will visually make it look smaller, i.e. my 18" Konig Unknowns with a lip looked smaller than my 18" Konig Verdicts whose 'spokes' went to the edge.

2. Decide on a finish, if you like chrome (it's your car), black, silver, bronze, gold, etc.

3. Decide on how many spokes, I personally like 5 or 6 spokes.

Check out discounttiredirect.com, tirerack.com, wheelmax.com, etc, etc and see which wheel grabs your attention.

My personal favorite out there right now is the AT Italia Inox Stainless.

18x7.5 with a 45 on a 225/40 18 will fit like a glove, I've had 2 sets of these. They fit fine on my Solara and my Camry. Pics below.
