Wheel Purchase Question-Please Help!

Hi,
I'm Seriously looking at a set of 17 X 8 rims with a 37mm Offset. They are the correct lug pattern. They come with Tires which are 225/45 R 17. I plan on lowering the car with the Tokico/Eibach setup shortly.

Will they fit?

Thanks in Advance for the help!

what type of rims? with that offset, you might stick out a tad, but should fit with no problem. and you might have to roll or shave the rear fenders.

They are OZ Racing Opera 2 Piece Rims.
The 55 Profile on the Tire is what has me worried. Im not sure if the Eibach setup will let them fit.

Anyone with a similar setup?

Thanks guys

Aviv, 17x8 with a +37 offset? I don't even think that will clear your fenders even with rolling. And you want 225/55R17 tires? You got the wrong wheels and tires for your Solara if you plan to lower it.

Aviv - I left you a response on Camryman on this same issue. You are definitely going to have a problem with this size. The rim width, offset, and tire diameter would each create the possibility of rubbing on a lowered car. Put them all together, and there is no doubt that you will have to do some serious fender rolling or shaving. If you don't lower the car, you might be OK, however.

I have 225/55/16 tires on 7.5" wide wheels with a 40 offset. I also have the Tokico/Eibach set-up. Under heavy loads, or when cornering hard, I got some rubbing. I had the fenders rolled a little to take care of it. You proposed combinition has a larger diameter tire, wider wheels, and an offset that will bring your wheels outside even farther. Need I say more? I think I'd look for something else.

Question: So if you didn't lower your car (kept stock suspension) and have a wheel setup like that, you wouldn't have a rubbing problem then? I know lowering it looks better though.

If you mean with a wheel set-up like mine, then no, there wouldn't be any rubbing if the car was not lowered. With the one that Screwdriver is proposing, I'm not so sure. My guess is that it probably would not rub, although it's possible under extreme driving conditions or with a lot of weight in the car. The tires he's talking about are an inch larger in diameter than stock.

Actually, Even at Stock Suspension, the tires rub VERY marginally at the rear. 1-2 mm would have made the difference.

Im either going to buy just the rims from the guy, or look for a different set.

Thanks

You're better off looking for a different set.
