After 3 months of having it sit in a corner of my room, I finally painted and installed it... Glossy black, all done by myself. However WTB: Toyota emblem; looks too empty and like it needs something.

I'm not sure if I quite follow; you have a Gen2 (meaning you want me to go get a Gen2), right?

if you want the toyota emblem, what is the purpose of putting the grill on? just throw your "toyota" lettering emblem from your trunk on to it.

Yes they are, 20% rear, 35% sides, 5% band. Also, rims = $$$$ that I don't have much of right now since I lost my job in November, found one in January and it's been enough hell catching up with bills.

Then again, I'm planning on selling this and getting a Gen1 drop-top once I get my tax refund and financial aid.

As for the emblem, I just wanted something to fill in the empty space; but my car is too near stock for a TRD, and a '99 1MZ would be R I C E for a VVT-i.

Looks hot. I like the black. If you got a set of the black housing headlights it would look absolutely sick with a drop and a set of black wheels with polished lip. I love your car color. Good work!

Thanks... Yeah, I still have the plan of getting black wheels and heck, like jhenty said, maybe black housing headlights. But if I can't find matching spray paint ANYWHERE on top of my limited budget to have it professionally matched (esp. if there's a nasty scrape that's been there for a year in the right rear that I've been meaning to get rid of), so I decided to be unique and make it black... ANYTHING but the "failed-attempt-at-chrome-spray-paint dull gray" on my OEM grille color, as seen below.

Oh, and I haven't updated the profile, but:
Google just helped a little more to point out I live in Monterey Park, which is the next town over from Montebello.
