Thx. I've made down payment on the Challenger. DCX has officially stated the car will go into production in Apr 2008. They are being built in Canada.

They let you make a downpayment on a car not yet in production? Strange...

Not really. It's been done many times before.

It happens all the time, anytime a new Ferrari or Lamborghini is introduced the wait list goes to 2+ years right off the bat. Sometimes it's not even a downpayment but just a name on a list.

OK, but a Dodge is not a Ferrari...and a name on a list is different than a downpayment.

All I said was that putting money down, and a dealer accepting it, for somehting that hasn't even seen production was strange...that's all. You have no idea what the REAL car will be like.

Yeah. I have to agree.
Paladin, thats a bold move to put money down on a vehicle which hasn't even begun production yet. Its cool and all, but thats a big risk.

I have my name on a list for the first Nissan GT-R, but thats not going to happen. I bought a Yaris instead and decided to throw all of my extra money back into my Solara.

Good luck with your Challenger.

I'm a personal fan of throwing in the 2UZ-FE if we're making a RWD Solara... it's been done to the Celica and pushed to close to 1000 hp for the drag; I'm sure a 5 or 600 hp street twin-turbo 4.7 would be a sweet wheel-stander!
