Replacing stock steering wheel

Replacing stock steering wheel

I'm just curious, has anyone replaced their stock steering wheel with an aftermarket one? Also is it possible to use a Celica's or Is300's steering wheel? thanks~

krookedsolara,

is that you dansing around in there? hahahahahahahahah

ps on the swapping of the stock wheel . . . make sure your out of the blasting zone for your airbag just in case . . . further, better make sure your airbag is code from the Celica to the Solara. you can do what you want, but if you crash and try to sue someone, may get stuck with the bill. The Solara's crash panels are in tune to the stock airbag size and blow force . . . and to check if any aftermarket wheel for that matter . . . well matters.
Wishin for warmer weather!!!

wow, that looks nice. I'd definitely want to change to a Celica steering wheel. Did you encounter any problem during the installation? Is it hard to do? Also, could you tell me is the Celica steering wheel smaller than Solara's? Thanks!

The Celica steering wheel is almost the same size w/ stock Solara,
just a bit smaller. I would say almost un-noticable.

But the Celica steering wheel is lighter so it takes more power to turn,
and making it more stable during high speed.

Problem is minor, you have to use Solara cruise control plug instead of
Celica plug. I think I have to switch the airbag plug as well.

Thats the only problems.

Yanks0114, which wheel do you refer to? steering wheels or the rims?

I'll update the album w/ install procedure.

Wow! That's nice Aggies! I also like the Rav4 steering wheel:

I think it is smaller than the Celica steering wheel, and sportier too (looks and feel). I wonder if it fits the Solara.
