Hello SG community just wondering Im looking into purchasing 17" wheels for my gen 1 tire size will be 225/45 what Im not sure off is should I also look out for the offset on a 17 " wheel? the ones that i will most likely buy have an offset of 40 im dropped on Teins and tokico ...not worry about rubbing cuz I know it won't but just curious if thats something to considered aswell . Any feedback will be greatly appreciated thanks

I have 17 Adr Sokudo 10s with 40mm offset. I think it looks nice. not too big, but still looks much better than stock. i'd consider it low profile with a bang.

why not just get 18's. if you get the right size tires and offset/width of rims you won't have to worry about rubbing. besides, 17's are for pansys

facevedo17, don't listen to him.

get whatever rim size you choose, even if they're aftermarket 16s, 17s or 18s.
it's all about what you want and your own preference, the road conditions there, etc.
i chose 17s because roads here suck and I just want to keep it low profile.

good luck in your purchase. post pics! :)

There are some very strong, well made 18's out there, you just cant buy the cheap crap. Trust me, I had 17's on my car at one time and the 18's look much better without a sacrifice in ride quality, especially since you're already dropped. You will not be dissapointed.

18's???? Mann.. Its all about 19 and dubs... hahahahahaha...

Just busting your balls...

But 18's do look better.. with you get 18x8 or 7.5 with a +40 offset you shouldn't have any problems....

225/40/18 tires. Or you can run 235/40/18 and shouldn't be any problems.

I've had 15 - 19" wheels on my solara and 19's look the best but of course 18 doesn't look bad..

Anything smaller then 18 to ME just looks too small on the car..

It also depends on the style of the rim. When I had my 17" multispoke, the rims looked quite small. Now I have the Gen2 17s, and they actually look larger. It's sort of like an optical illusion. If you go with 17s, to make them look bigger, get less spokes that are bigger, and go all the way to the lip.
This is the space where I should write something witty or clever, hoping to show some personality.

i don't really care rich. just offering my own opinion like you're offering yours. only difference is I could give less of a sh!t about what you say and what you think. your little comments back to me is nothing to me at all. continue to type back with your little smartass comments to someone who gives a damn. stop trying to make competition, you know more about me on this forum and I can admit that, but I could care less about your little side comments. his decision is his own. you aren't nothing special to be recognized in his decision. BOO YAH b!tch.

it is true what some of the guys said up there about the multi spoke. I personally like multi spoke but will have to live with my 17s for now. as said before, good luck in your purchase, hope you get what you like! :D

OUCH.... at least I talked him into getting 18's. I'm happy he's happy. Next step.... helping him decide which rims lmao.

facevedo17, buying rims is worse than buying a car... I hope you make the right decision lol
