Werid Problem

Well i got my car retinted today. but i doubt that has anything to do with this problem. When i turn on my rear defroster and have my head unit on in the radio its all static and i cant get any stations. Never had this problem before. but when it on a cd everything is fine. Also when heat and ac are on now static at all. But when the rear defroster comes on it goes static...
What can be causing this ????
I was think maybe the tint is still wet and is effecting the antenna line. but its only when rear Defroster is on like stated
ugh another problem i have to deal with before i leave the country for Dominican tomorrow morning

Well if you got the whole car retinted, the rear window is a probably the hardest to remove the tint because to the defogger lines.

Your suppose to apply acetone and wait an hr for it to soak into the glue. yeah sometimes if you dont want to wait for the acetone to remove the glue you just scrape it off, might have cut one of the lines?

The power that activates the defogger is located behind the left side seat, under the rear deck (directly behind driver)...

nope not the problem.. i removed the tint at a friends car wash shop with crazy ass chemical and just wiped it down no razor was used.. and also like i said only does it when rear defroster is on.. but works fine w/o it on or with the ac or heat on.. But thanks for the help im just hoping someone had something related to this.. Any way i can upgrade to after market antenna External ??

I heard there's 2 diff kinds of window tint. the metal tint, and the ceramic based kind. I have the ceramic based which is a little more expensive, I've never experienced radio or any kind of static problems.. my friend on the other hand did, maybe he has the same kind of tint you have..

does your friend experience it with the defroster on ??? call him up and ask ?? if you can i need to know asap

nope not the problem.. i removed the tint at a friends car wash shop with crazy donkey chemical and just wiped it down no razor was used.. and also like i said only does it when rear defroster is on.. but works fine w/o it on or with the ac or heat on.. Go to circuit city, get the amplified antenna its $45 or $50, sticks on the windshield on the inside , its about 3/4 inch by 3 inches. just run it down your a pillar and into the back of the radio.

ahh, the metallic tint, check that too, also heard the same thing...

just talked to a friend.. what they could have done was scratched one of the lines either antenna or defroster and since the window is still wet the two cause each other to short circuit each other out.. and when i dries up maybe it will go away..So im hoping when i come back from my trip everything will be fine and i wont have to deal with this crap !! But amplified antenna sound like a good plan Thanks alot guys

my friend said he experienced it with the defroster on yes.
but i have yet to ask him about an amplified antennae, he did say it got fixed though. will ask tomorrow.
