wheel lock/locking lug nuts?

wheel lock/locking lug nuts?

Postby woa_its_j3ff » Wed Mar 07, 2007 10:16 pm

sorry mods if this is the wrong section but wasnt sure where to put it under.
with the rims I purchased not long ago I have yet to put them on but will be in a few days. I bought them used, but are in flawless condition. unfortunately they do not have lug nuts or anything like that.

I heard of locking lug nuts and wheel locks. what are the differences and what do they do exactly?

also question: do i have to get 5 locking lugs/wheel locks per wheel? or can I just go with 1 per wheel??

about how much are they, and etc.
i just thought i'd ask you guys before heading over to discount tire tomorrow.
thanks.

im assuming the stock lugs wont fit on my aftermarket wheels.

u should get 4 spline key ones and 1 locking one per wheel
thats what im planning to do....
gorilla has good locks, but unforunately they dont fit on my rims
so check to see if they will fit or not first....if not u might have to look into mcgard which is also a good brand

so 16 spline/tuner lugs and 4 locking ones
spline ones at discount tires are 2.50 each....locking is 20 for a set of 4
thats what i have from my local discount/america's tire

how much does it cost for a tire shop like discount tire to just take off your old rims. and put your new ones on?
assuming that you get one locking lug per wheel included?

correct. but when i bought the rims. (used but in flawless condition. guy only drove them for 45 miles.. or so) . but he didnt have existing lugs. so thats why i am tryin to find out how much itd be all together.

so i can get just 4 regular lugs per wheel and 1 locking lug per wheel?

^ What kind of car does he have?

Its not that it'll fit because he has ADR wheels. you need ones that fits the stud of your car.

I forgot what our cars are like but its M##x## ahhhhh i cant believe i forgot.
