quick fuse question

quick fuse question

Postby mettler » Wed Mar 07, 2007 6:36 pm

I unlocked my car with the remote key and the interior lights flashed on then went out. The main interior light still comes on when I turn it on from the inside, but nothing comes on when I open the door. I was wondering if there was a fuse that is responsible for this? I will check in the morning.

thanks

Well, I'm not 100% on what you're asking, so bear with me... When you arm/disarm the car, the parking lights beams and the instrumentation lights blink... This is normal and a visual indicator to let you know that it's locked/unlocked (but chances are you might already know that, but I'm putting it here just in case).

However, if it still works when you switch it on manually to the ON position but not when you have the switch at "DOOR", chances are a wire that leads to the switch or even the bulb itself might be loose, or the "door ajar" switch is stuck (a red indicator will light up when you open the door).

Keep in mind that if it WAS a fuse, chances are that the main light, map light or any other electronics linked to it won't come on at all. Hope this helps.

^he's right. there IS a dome light fuse, but if it popped, the dome light wouldn't even work at all. i assume you're talking about the dome light right, mettler?

check your driver's side door pinswitch, you may need to replace it.

also, check to see if your dome light does the same thing when you open your passenger door.
