Gas mileage going down

Postby Jeffrey Olson » Sun Mar 11, 2007 6:24 pm

I read the performance stats on the 2000 Solara and they don't describe the gas mileage I used to get. 31 average, with peaks of 33 when I cruised at 65 using cruise control. 26 to 27 mpg is normal now. STill a bummer. Will try the first suggestions above - perhaps the stealorship...

i wonder if my 17s will make my gas go down quicker.
where many hate, few will love,
But for those who love,
they'll see what it's like to live.

LOL! That link quoted 20 to 30 mpg! That's a pretty big range. If I get 30 I'm happy; 20 and I'm not so happy.

My wife's '99 V6, 5 speed recently got 29 mpg on the highway. We get about 24 to 26 in mixed driving (24 when I drive, 26 when she drives).

By the bye, larger wheels should give you BETTER gas mileage. It's your acceleration that would suffer.
