scratchs

ok in about 5 months of owning my car, i got a couple of scratches on it. maybe you guys can help

1:

got it backing into a park car. the screw of the license plate dug into my rear bumper.

2:

on my driver side rear panel. i got it backing into my dad's van. the bumper of the van was rubber so i dunno.

same thing as 2. but on the opposite side of the wheel.

ok this isn't a scratch but the rubber ripped on my passenger side window. i dunnow what to do.

so yea my first car and its already messed up. help!

first, learn how to back up! second, learn how to back up! you gotta be careful! i hate to see my fellow solara owners get hurt like this. especially if its preventable, please be more careful. as for fixing...i think touch up paint for the first one, cuz its so deep. and for the rubber ones, if it is rubber, it should come off.... i hope. good luck. how'd the rubber rip?

i don't know. i carried some wood for my dad and maybe tht might of ripped it. can i replace that or something?

im sure its replacable. go to toyota and as for the part. i dont think it'll cost much at all.

my cars kinda has that look on 2nd pictures.. ::sad::

but watch out for your moldings on ur car.. those are really expensive

mine is like the 1st pic...on the back of my trunk where my toyota emblem used to be..i'm scare to put another one back on... :cry:

1st, touch up those scratches! that will prevent further oxidation (rust).
and make it looks better.

The key of good touch up is: make the paint as thin as you can.
I add some paint thinner to the touch up paint and cut the brush diagonally to sharpen the brush.

2nd, be careful next time. Gotta learn from experience ya know... :wink:

Someone moved a filing cabinate in my garage a lil' bit one day, and when i backed up..i didn't see the cabinate there..scratched up the pass. mirror...other damages to my car are two minute dimlples on my hood...got it the day i bought the car...HAIL STORM :evilbat:

The first week of ownership..someone scratched up my rear bumer at Randall's...KNOCK on wood...nothing since then...phew!
