dude honestly. stop tryin to get a purple look for your car. i mean if you want it to match your neons man, just paint your car purple, you can sport the barney theme. either way dude, with 12000K sh!t, not to mention on how purple it is, people will look at you as if you're crazy. It may seem cool at first, but trust me, try driving in the rain with that stuff on, i hope you got some good side airbags. stick with 4300 or 5600K HIDs. most practical.
but if you really want 12000K hid, then go for it, then might I hope you get some multiple fogs to light up the road.. at least so you can see the road better or something..

hes from arkansas, cops wont bother you for having 12k. i had 12k for a few weeks before getting the 8k kit. brandon, listen to everyone when they say you wont be able to see anything. they'll look purple, but the lumens and the brightness will not be what you want. if you want a good compromise for look and light output, go with the 6k or 8k. i think most solaraguys will agree that these are both a good median. if you want better light output, go with lower kelvin, if you want a more colorful appearance, go with higher - but beware... the higher the kelvin the lower the light output.

couldn't have said it better.
just stick between the 4300-6500K at most.

Been using 8500K on my headlights, and fogs, Diamond white, which measn it has a blueish hue to it, but its not a deep blue.

Light output isnt that bad, I have had to drive in rain, fog, snow from Palisades mall back into the city.... so a combination of windy roads, dense fog, damp roads.... and I can still see for a good distance.

The light dissipation of a 12k isnt as high, hence the lower lumens of the bulb. Unless you just want the purple look, go for it, but you will probably regret it, since their light output isnt that great.

Stick to 4500-8500K, you will be happier, and still be able to see at night.

remember, the point of having HID is to see better at night.
Geeks get it done, while Nerds whimper and call for mommie.

Here I am giving advice and I don't have HID's. However, from what everyone is saying you won't be able to see anything and 12k's are probably for show/fogs.

If you want purple in your head lights just hook up some LED's for show and go with some functional HID's.

Example:

Buy the LED's from:

That's my suggestion. LMK if you do that project and I can help ya out.

ok so my photobucket is down rite now but 12000k sucks.

its comes out purple ish blue and everything u shine has a blue tint on it. It is very inefficient and i returned it for 6500k and was much better.

if u like the blue look, i say go with 8500k. it has a lil blu tint to it, but it still shines efficiently.

but from what i heard 4000k-8000k was best. stock hids are at 4300k

i'll get pics once PB is up again.
