relays are an electrical device that turns on and off a signal. They are what let one bulb, act as both a parking light, and a signal light. So imagine, you turn on your parking light (one click) or head light (two click), the corner light will turn on. And then, when you use your turn signal, the relay will allow signals coming into the bulb to turn on and off, until you tell it to stop.

A broken relay, will leave it at one setting. In this case, on. I HIGHLY believe what everyone on here is saying... it MUST be a relay.... how you blew it though... that's the question....

oh yeah... cuz you forgot to top off your blinker fluid...

UPDATE.
okay so i took out the HVAC to access the hazard flasher. i disconnected the wire and plugged it back in. nothing

then i went by the kcik panel and saw 2 BLACK (NOT RED as campfire said) relay things. ONE is slightly rectangular that says "relay" on there and the other says "flasher". I don tknow which one ill need to replace but anyone with info on this let me know. when i took out the FLASHER thing, it seemed to sound as if something small was broken inside, like a light plastic rattling? .. i dont think thats normal?
so thats why im confused on what to replace. i also examined both of them but i cant see nothing wrong with them, as far as i could tell..

side thought, if sometrhing blew in my FLASHER, is that why it didnt work and why i hear that broken sound?

Picked up a flasher from here...

http://superbrightleds.com/flashers.htm
http://superbrightleds.com/tail-brake-turn.html
(scroll to almost the bottom)

Not OEM, but allows you to use your LED bulbs...

There is a wide variety of thermal and electrical 2 and 3 prong flashers at advance auto. But if you want to run LED turns you need the electrical relay/flasher.

Just a thought... (No, it's NOT BLINKER FLUID! <-- BONE HEADS!)

Sometimes, LED's do NOT have the correct resistance to properly "load" the TURN SIGNAL relay... (the unit that causes INTERMITTENT OPERATION, or BLINKING) USUALLY, the NON-BLINK or RAPID BLINK situation will show up IMMEDIATELY when you install LED's. If you installed LED's in JUST the fronts, for example, and LATER added LED's to the REAR on the same winker circuit, THIS could ALSO cause the relay to quit working correctly.

Since you indicate NO CHANGE POINTS to the electrical system lately... I'm suspecting one of the following:

1) The LED's you installed previously were NOT quite the correct resistance, but WORKED for awhile, but the improper load prematurely "wore out" the WINKER RELAY... (check the relay)

-OR- (and I'd try this FIRST...)

2) The LED's ARE the cause of the improper resistance, and if you place CONVENTIONAL BULBS in the winkers instead of the LED's, the circuit will go back to WINKING CORRECTLY.

GOOD LUCK!

(BTW, Blinker Fluid comes in a BEER can...)

i dont have leds no more. i just have pure old sylvania turn signals. the led i had was for under dash lighting. took those out.

so with that said can i still get these flashers to fix my car?
so im guessing it's not the relay that i need to replace. just the flasher correct?

oh right. i just got confused cuz there is another relay next to it that says "relay" on it but doesnt say anything liek "flasher" or anything. if you guys look (gen 1 guys) at where im talkin about ull get what i mean.

and so far I came up with this..

http://autozone.com/servlet/UiBroker?Us ... urn+Signal
not available.

im going to go back to my car and see if the part number or whatever can match up to the link that Cklinh gave me for the superbrightled website. maybe i can just get the flasher relay from there.

IMO and at this point I would go to the dealer and get the correct flasher with the correct number of pins and pin position for your car. It may cost a little more but at this point it cuts way down on the frustration level.
