True BLUE headlight/foglight bulbs

True BLUE headlight/foglight bulbs

Postby Wyldhorse0705 » Tue Apr 10, 2007 6:11 am

Where can i get some true BLUE headlight and foglight bulbs? I had some on the car when i 1st bought it that were a nice blue color. Even inside the housing the light was blue. They started going out and had to replace them with the sylvania cool blue bulbs. They're white...not blue. So I ordered some Xenon Spyder glow blue bulbs, and the light has a blueish tint to it, but nothing like the ones that were in there before. I looked at the old ones and it had a name of Tenrai, but couldn't find them for the life of me. The highbeam bulbs are still the same (tenrai) but i'd like for the rest to have a nice blue color to it. If you have some in your car, or have any idea where i can get some let me know. I'll try to post some pictures soon of what i'm talking about.

the xenons i got were off of ebay, and suppose to be blue. yeah the light has a blue tint to it slightly, but if i can get a picture up, it'll show how blue i'd like it to be. I'll search ebay a little more.

the other thread said 8000K hid's are pointless. anything over 4100 is pointless. It would be a cool color but the output of a flashlight.

You should check out 6000k, still brighter and bluer than any of those 'colored' bulbs out there....

The same goes with any bulb, HID or Halogen.

For halogen, the bluer the light, the darker the blue tint on the bulb. And the darker the tint on the bulb, the less visible light you will see.

can i run a 6500 with projectors? I may check into 6500 or 8000's.

i want to have good visibility but i want the blue light lol. or maybe 8000K with projectors? i dunno how all that works. I just have regular smoked lights on the mustang, nothing crazy.

i used to have 8000k and loved them but i got rid of it for 5400k which still has blue tint but more light output. but eems like you wasting your money buying cheap bulbs. 8000k hids will still put out more light then those cheap "blue" bulbs your trying to find.

Agreed...I tried the blue bulbs, simply because I wanted that bluish color without having to pay for HID's but their all crap. If that's what you really want, then save the $40 for blue bulbs and get some HID's. That's what I ended up doing.

Are you planning to custom retrofit projectors yourself or do you have a shop? I went to customlightz.com they do very good work. Talk to Bjorn and check out there site. The have some of my pics and also a gen1. FYI, the retrofit fit won't be cheap......
