So i went up to United Muffler today as I had nothing better to do and talked with the head guy there. He seemed pretty knowledgeable and after asking me some basic questions on what i wanted and looking at my car he suggested "i would just go with a universal muffler."

This being cause i dont have a lot of money to spend on something like this appealed to me. So we looked at what he had in stock. Now these pictures/descriptions/models are as close to what I saw as I could think of, i had class in a few mins so i didnt have time to write stuff down, i even left my $150 pair of Oakley's there, which ill be getting tomorrow of course.

He showed me the following and said "we can take off your stock muffler and put some up there so you can see what they will actually look like" sounded good to me, cause you never know what its gonna look like until you get on there. These are two of the bigger mufflers he had in stock, i'm sure theres more in the shop.

These are Magnaflow mufflers that he was showing me, just not sure of the 'exact' stuff (size of outlets, and such)

For $159 installed I could go with something like this

When I saw ^ this one I thought of TRD since thats what it really did look like, but the up tiped one intrigued me at the same time I like the look of ptballa's Camry.

So what do my fellow Solara Guy's think about this matter?

Are these big name brand mufflers? If not, I'll bet they are going to be high pitched and have a cracking sound - very noticable at higher RPM's.

the first one is awful, the second one is the exact muffler i have on my camry. I was happy with it, it had a nice deep tone to it... but if it is generic and not the magnaflow pictured the sound will most likely suck...

ditch the twin angled outlets... stay with the 2nd one. I was also looking into exhausts a couple nights ago and at 140 . . then id definitely wait it out to save up another $40 for a brand name universal exhaust.. like on eBAY or CL or maybe even on TN or HERE! and have a place install it ... it shouldn't cost that much to get it installed.

For me this is what i'm prolly gonna get within' the next few weeks-

if you get the first muffled i'll laugh. the lil cutout on the solara is too small to cover that anyways. id go with the second it doesnt' look so bad. post pics! :)
