my passenger side door lock can't lock even though its in the locked position. i can't turn it to the unlocked position either. anyone have any ideas?

your motor might be frozen in the lock position. whadya mean it can't lock even though it's in the lock position? like you can't even close the door?

no like i can open the door, when the lock is in the locked position. i can't move the lock back to the unlocked position either. but my door still opens

Sucks for you =x you keep running into problems...


I don't know if would apply to Solaras, but in my old car, that happened. It was a mechanical linkage failure inside the door... it was a recall issue, but yea... maybe you can open up the door and check? I'm not sure what you'd check for since we have power locks... but it's worth a shot if it may just be something like a small pebble in the way

Best bet is to take off the door panel and see whats going on in there

should i remove the door and check whats going on? or jsut take it to the dealer? how do i remove the paneling anyway?

if your car is still under warranty, move your ass to the dealer :D
