Suspension Upgrade 99 V6 - What else?

Postby RTTFM » Thu Apr 19, 2007 3:19 pm

Thanks for the info guys. Ordered TRD springs ($300), Tokico struts ($320) and new front strut mounts ($100). She's gonna love it. I will try to talk her into upgrading the sway bar when she has money again. :D

The install guide that was posted will be very helpful.

Called the local Toyota dealers. Two had it for $299 one for $328. Carson Toyota and Long Beach Toyota were the cheapies.

Swap went pretty smoothly. Only catch was taking the back apart to get to the rear struts. Thanks for the help!

Suspension

Postby JMSinMaryland » Tue May 08, 2007 9:03 pm

Original "TRD" suspension was Eibach Springs and Bilstein struts. I have personally run Eibach/Tokico in my Solara and my Camry. Check out shox.com for some great prices. You should be able to gets springs/struts for $600 for the aforementioned setup. Conecilli Toyota in PA (partznet.com) and Concord Toyota in NC (toyotaparts4u.com) also used to have great deals. I would also look at a TRD front strut bar and TRD rear sway bar. A company out of Australia used to make front sway bars (Whiteline) but I haven't heard them brought up too much recently.
