Help!!! Check Engine Light 2002 Solara

I recently bought a used 2002 Solara SE Four Cylinder coupe. It had about 28000 miles when I purchased it. I just surpassed the 30K mark when I noticed this morning the check engine light came on stayed on. Any ideas at what this could mean? Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Could be a hundred different things. It's still under warranty so you can take it to the dealer to read the code(s). The only time mine came on is when the gas cap wasn't on tight enough. If you don't get the cap on tight -- until it starts clicking -- the check engine light will come on.
If you think this is the case, tighten the gas cap and then disconnect the battery for 15 minutes or so to reset the light. If that was the problem, the light won't come back on. If it wasn't the problem, see the dealer or purchase a code scanner.

it's still under warranty. take it back to the dealer. might be your O2 sensor.

I had that same thing happen to me. I was worried it was something serious, because the day before I thought I might of found an oil leak. Then I chirped the tires coming out of a drive way and the light went on. Turned out it was just the gas cap. I felt pretty stupid

Have your CEL code read by the dealer.
