No, I had had the single disc JBL head unit and it had the mid adjustment. Maybe early or later on in the product year they changed something in the headunits.

The main differences are:
Non auto climate control models: 99 had manual recirc/fresh vent controlsl; 00-03 was push button electronic.
The radio changeover 3in1 version from (1996 to 1999) to 3in1 version (00-03). Premium JBL 6 disc in dash was available for 2000.

Other than that...the only other noticable change is the exterior face lift for 2002, the 2AZ-FE replacement of the 5S-FE in 02, the removal of manual V6 models for 2003.

For 2000 and up If you have the DELUXE 3 in 1 regular 6 speaker, you don't have mid range adjustment...only bass and treble.. If you have the Premium 3 in 1 or Premium 6disc in dash, you have treble, mid and bass controls. The easiest way to tell this on a 1999 version of the plain Deluxe 3 in 1 was if your LCD numbers on the readout were extra large in the display. I have the Premium 3 in 1 in my 99 and have Treble, Mid and Bass controls.

so did u mean that deluxe simply means single cd changer, and premium means 6 cd changer? or is there something else im missing. are the speakers and wattage the same? in my 00, i nly have bass and treble adjustments, single cd changer, but the speakers are jbl, and it sounds really nice. i would be surprised if this was the 'lower' end system.....

I have an '00 SE V6 and single disc JBL system, but I have low mid and high adjustments..
What are the official differences between SE and SLE? Because from what I can see, my SE has everything except for automatic climate control.
